Headaches

My name is John D. and I'd like to share with you my success at Dr. Boczar's office.  I came to see Dr. Boczar in early 2003 after suffering with severe migraines for fifteen (15) years. I carried a bottle of Tylenol where ever I had gone for the past 10 years.  I saw many different doctors, everyone from my primary care physician to a neurologist.  I suffered with these migraines for so many years that I just tried to deal with them as best I could, putting my life on hold.  I am proud to say that within one month I noticed I had been headache free since my first visit with Dr. Boczar.  It has been 3 years and still NO HEADACHES!!!  I found Dr. Boczar's approach to be kind, sincere, educational and most of all, compassionate.  His knowledge and ability to help people is a combination that I have yet to find in a doctor.  I was so amazed with the results that I am now (at age 50) enrolled in chiropractic school in Marietta, GA.

Thank You Dr. Boczar and staff!

—John D.

Sciatica

I didn't think chiropractic treatments were effective until I met Dr. Leever in a business group. I always had lower back pain from a compressed disc. I decided to see her for consultation and a treatment plan.

Then when I had an accident earlier this year, I was left with a disk fragment pressed against my sciatic nerve. If you have had sciatica before, you know how painful and debilitating it can be. I had it for 2 months! Immediately after the accident, I started an aggressive chiropractic treatment regimen of 3 times per week. The relief was gradual, and Dr. Leever told me I had to be a patient with patience. The treatment worked for such a severe case, and surgery was avoided. After the month of aggressive chiropractic treatments, and then the addition of physical therapy for a month, I became pain free. Dr. Leever was instrumental in teaching me about my condition, educating me on what to do and why, and took the time to ensure I received the best possible care. She listens and really does care about each and every patient.

I highly recommend her for anyone with back or leg issues. I am forever grateful to her for keeping me as pain-free as possible.

Back Pain

For several years I have lived with recurring lower back pain. Every couple of years, when this pain came back, it was worse than the last time. Every time I would see my family doctor and every time he prescribed painkillers, anti- inflammatory and muscle relaxing drugs. I couldn’t help but think that we were always treating the effect and never the cause.

Finally, I decided that it’s time to try something different and I decided upon chiropractic care with Dr. David Boczar. After one visit with him I could feel a difference. I felt the tightness in my lower back begin to dissipate; I felt like I was standing more evenly; and because of Dr. Boczar’s explanation, I understood what was causing the backache and how we were going to fix it.

The results have been amazing.

Wellness/ Injury Prevention

I have been a long time chiropractic patient. Prior to coming to Dr. Dave and Dr. Jenni’s office I had been treated by 20-30 different chiropractors with varying techniques. As a government employee I travel to the ends of the earth on a regular basis. I have never been to a more professional, caring, and genuinely helpful doctors office in my life. I utilize chiropractic care for regular wellness injury prevention. I find that if I am adjusted on a regular basis (approximately 1x per month) I sleep better, and get sick and injured less often. I would highly recommend with the strongest confidence Drs. Boczar and Leever. Thanks again docs.

Neck Pain

I thought I would never go to a chiropractor until the day my neurosurgeon referred me to Dr. Jenni Leever.

I am currently a patient of Family Health Chiropractic. I have been receiving treatment for a neck injury, which was previously thought to need surgery. After the first four treatments I have had no more headaches or pain in my neck or back. I can now sleep all night and I feel much better when I wake up in the morning. Thank you,

—Sharon S.

Shoulder Pain

I first arrived in Dr. Dave’s office after several months of trouble sleeping, extreme shoulder pain, and waking up with numbness in my hands. I had gone to my family doctor in Los Angels, CA and was diagnosed with chronic bursitis of my shoulders. Pain medications and rest did little to relieve my discomfort. While in Brunswick training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center I was encouraged by the physical therapist to see Dr. Dave. Dr. Dave and his staff are great. He determined the problem, recommended adjustments, massage, and a stretching / strengthening program. After just a few visits I was sleeping better, and I am now pain free, with full shoulder motion. I am so thankful to Dr. Dave that I was able to finish my training. I only wish I could take them back to California with me. Thanks again,

—Maria O.

Carpal Tunnel/ Arm Numbness

I have worked on computers since my late teens, and was aware of possible complications with carpal tunnel syndrome due to keyboarding. I've always been pretty careful to take time to stretch my wrists and shoulders and use appropriate wrist supports. For the most part, I've managed to avoid much pain or numbness in my wrists, arms and shoulders.

But then, after being laid off work and trying to fill my time, I decided to take on stripping and refinishing the kitchen cabinetry. All the abuse I'd put my arms and shoulders through flared up with this intense activity and I could hardly hold my utensils to eat dinner without my hands going numb, and trying to sleep at night with the pain in my shoulders was spotty at best.

I had seen Dr. Jenni in the past for migraines and went back to her for relief from the pain and numbness. After three weeks of twice-weekly adjustments to my neck, mid-back, shoulders and arms, I was able to work pain free. And I'm now able to go to sleep without taking ibuprofen or other pain relievers. I am very pleased with Family Health Chiropractic’s friendly staff and Dr. Jenni genuine caring for her patients.

Fibromyalgia

I suffered from all over body pain for years before I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia in 2002. The pain would vary in intensity, depending upon my activities. All of the medications I tried seemed to make the problem worse. Then I talked to a friend at the hospital and figured that I would give Dr. Dave and Dr. Jenni a try... Am I glad I did! My pain is much less and I am more active than I have been in years! Thanks, Dr. Dave, Dr. Jenni and Staff

—Crystal J.

Leg Pain/ Numbness

“ Wow I feel like I could run a race!” Those were my words following my last chiropractic adjustment at Family Health Chiropractic. I felt fit, both physically and mentally.. What a difference a few weeks makes. I had begun chiropractic treatment with Dr. Dave following a fall in which I injured my lower leg and back. In the beginning I was using a walker to get around and friends were driving me to my appointments. The walker is no longer necessary and I have begun to drive again. I am so thankful for Dr. Dave, Dr. Jenni, Heather, and April. I always look forward to seeing them and plan on seeing them on a regular basis as chiropractic is a way to maintain fitness and a sense of well being. Before my fall, I had thought about seeking help because I have a mild form of Cerebral Palsy, which effects my posture and my gait. Chiropractic has helped with both. Don’t wait for an accident to be introduced to chiropractic care. Begin now and you might avoid the accident!

Pregnancy Induced Back Pain

I've been under the care of Dr. Jenni for about two and one half years. My problems mostly concerned upper neck and shoulder pain, accompanied by excruciating headaches. When I became pregnant with twins last June, I made certain I saw Dr. Jenni at least once a week. In the last couple of months (3rd trimester), I stepped that up to 3 visits per week whenever possible. What a difference this has made in my pregnancy! I have only had one or two headaches - - lasting only briefly - - during my whole pregnancy, with a minimum of back pain given the weight of the pregnancy. You all are the best.

Auto Injury

I was rear-ended in a fairly severe car accident in November of 2002. It left my car totaled and my body battered and bruised. About a month after my accident I began to get migraine headaches in the afternoon. By January, I was having the migraines every day and was missing work and school because the pain was unbearable. I had gone to a doctor who prescribed muscle-relaxing drugs to combat the migraines, and at first they worked. By then, I had to switch medications three times and had to go to heavier and heavier doses to get any relief from the headaches.

"My husband had recently started to visit Dr. Boczar and encouraged me to give chiropractic care a try. I was wary at first because I knew nothing about chiropractic care but it was now February and I was tired of being in pain. I called my doctor and he said to give it a try if I felt confident about the chiropractor. I also called my mother and every person I knew, to ask what they knew about chiropractic care and if they thought I should give it a try. My husband's opinion prevailed and I went to see Dr. Boczar.

"After a consultation with Dr. Boczar., I decided to give it a whirl and made an appointment to get adjusted. The day of my first visit, I went early in the afternoon, before my daily migraine (I never did get a migraine that day). I have been going daily ever since and feel great. I have not had a single migraine since! I stopped taking my pain medication the day after my first appointment with Dr. Boczar. and haven't needed it again. I have no doubt that it is only the chiropractic care that has stopped my migraines. I would greatly encourage anyone who has pain to visit a chiropractor. It really can make a world of difference!"

Hip Pain

When I first came in I had a very bad limp due to severe hip pain. A local orthopedic physician diagnosed my problem as that of osteoarthritis and deterioration of cartilage between the hip and leg bones. The physician recommended pain medication, followed by a hip replacement when I could no longer tolerate the pain. I am happy to relate that in just one month of chiropractic adjustments I have experienced a dramatic decrease in the hip pain. I also fully expect to avoid a hip replacement!

Thanks Family Health Chiropractic!

Sports Injury/ Peak Performance

Tour de France Champion Depends on Chiropractic

Lance Armstrong is the first American to win the Tour de France three years in a row. One of the methods he uses to keep in peak performance is chiropractic care. The chiropractor he uses to help him is Dr. Jeff Spencer. Dr. Jeff Spencer is no stranger to the sport.

According to Dr. Spencer, "My job with Lance and the team is to optimize the neuromusculoskeletal component of their training and, in the event of a crash, minimize down time and get them back in the race as quickly as possible. I adjust them as needed and guide them in choices of diet and supplements, which helps reduce the likelihood of injury." Chiropractic helps athletes perform better by removing interference to their nervous system known as subluxations. When the nerve system is free of interference the athlete can perform better.

In a study conducted by the New Zealand School of Chiropractic, University of Auckland, New Zealand reaction times were improved and shortened in volunteer subjects that received chiropractic care over those that did not. The group that received the chiropractic adjustment showed a decrease in reaction time of 97 milli-seconds representing a 14.8 percent quicker reaction time. Considering these findings, is it any wonder why Lance Armstrong and thousands of other athletes use chiropractic care to obtain their peak performance?

Pinched Nerves/ Golf Injury

I was having severe pain down my left leg. It felt like a bad toothache. I have to drive several hours each day for my work and it was getting to the point where I was taking pain medication every few hours to be able to do my job. I love to golf and was unable to play due to the pain. Then one of my clients in Portland told me about the pain specialists at Family Health Chiropractic. After some tests, I was diagnosed with sciatica. It was coming from my low back. The doctors treated the underlying cause of my pain. My pain has improved tremendously and I can drive much longer than before. I am back to playing golf on weekends too!

TMJ

Just wanted to say...Thank You!  I finally found a doctor who cares .  Thank you for your individual attention.  You helped my jaw in one appointment more then anyone has helped me in seven years.

Thanks Again,

—Jessica L.

Scoliosis

“I had suffered from scoliosis as a child and have been in chiropractic care for over 20 years now. When I moved to St. Simons Island from Columbus in mid-January, 2004, I was very impressed with Family Health Chiropractic’s personalized care. I’m currently on a once a month maintenance schedule for spinal alignment. “Over the years, I’ve been to “good and bad” chiropractors. I didn’t feel that all of the past treatments were effective… but I think Drs. Dave, Jenni’s treatment is effective, and their staff is great!”

—Elizabeth S,

Childhood Asthma

The problem began at 7 months old. The baby had 2 hospital stays and daily nebulizer treatments 4 times per day. Because I was under chiropractic care, I brought my baby to my chiropractor for evaluation. The asthma attacks subsided completely in a few months time after beginning Chiropractic treatment. He hasn't had an attack in 2 years. He has been able to resume all activities because of regained health. He can live freely again without carrying the machine around and his medicine. I am recommending Dr. Jenni to others.

Thanks,

—Karen S.

Arthritis

I am writing regarding my rewarding experience with Dr. Boczar and my first true dealing with chiropractic. I have had a lot of pain associated with a chronic autoimmune condition. As a result of that pain, I had trouble sleeping. The lack of sleep seemed like it really stressed out my neck, mid-back, and lower back. It was hard to do everyday activities and life was pretty miserable.

After only a few adjustments, my back pains have been nearly alleviated. I have more feeling in my feet (which for several years have felt numb), and it is terrific that I can actually start exercising again and really enjoy almost any range of movement. The doctors and their staff Heather, April and Sandy really care. I was so impressed I referred my mother.
